Waste Collection and Charges

Domestic Refuse

Householders who have paid their waste charges have received a coloured authorisation label which enables them to use the advance credit system.

Householders should please note that the purple bin authorisation label which bears the date Jan-07 will continue to be effective for all of 2009.

A small minority of householders who are not availing of the Council’s Waste service because of arrears of the fixed waste charges which applied in 2002 and 2003 can make arrangements with the Council to clear the arrears and then avail of the Council’s Waste Service from the date of the arrangements.

Please contact 01-4149000 or email info@sdublincoco.ie.

To avail of the refuse collection service you will require a purple label on the bin and sufficient bin lift credit on your Waste Charges Account.

The current prices for domestic refuse collections are €10.50 for a 240 litre black bin, €6.00 a 140 litre black bin and €5.25 for a 140 litre brown bin

More information on the Pay-per-Use system can be obtained by accessing the  Waste Charges Brochure  Download PDF

Waste collected in South Dublin County is taken to the Council's baling station where it is baled for transportation to the Council's landfill at Arthurstown. Click here for more information on the Aurthurstown Landfill.

Refuse Collection for Businesses - Trade Waste

All participating businesses, schools, charities, resource centres, community centres and SDCC neighbourhood centres are dealt with on the Trade Waste system.

They are supplied with an Authorisation Label for each bin they possess, enabling them to leave out the bins for collection EVERY WEEK in 2007. There will be no need to buy tags for these bins.

The 2006 GREEN label for Trade Waste customers will be replaced with a WHITE-coloured label in 2007.

Instead of tagging these bins the customers are invoiced for the collection for the year. The Authorisation Labels sticker are sent out in advance and the invoice follows.
