Customers may make payments to the Council at our Cash Office in either County Hall, Tallaght, or our Clondalkin Office. Opening Hours in Tallaght are Monday to Thursday 9.00 am to 4.00pm; Friday 9.00 am to 3.30pm. Saturday, Sunday & Bank Hoilidays Closed. Opening Hours in Clondalkin are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 3.30pm (open through lunch). Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays Closed.
Casual Trading
Casual Trading includes activities in a public place, such as the sale of fast food from a van, the sale of flowers from a vehicle or stall, or any similar street market type of activity. The Council has the legal power to decide places where casual trading may take place, within the Council's own borders. Only people who hold a valid Casual Trading Licence may trade at these designated casual trading sites. More information.

Exhumation of human remains
The Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act 1948 and Local Government Acts 1925 – 2001 gives South Dublin County Council the power to grant an Exhumation Licence to anybody wishing to exhume remains from any cemetery in its administrative area, under certain conditions. More information.
Fine, On-the-Spot (Littering)
The Council employs seven Litter Wardens. Presently, the on-the-spot fine for littering under the Litter Pollution Act 1997, (as amended), is €150.00. If the matter is brought to the District Court and the offender is found guilty, the maximum fine can be up to €3,000.00. More information.

Greater Dublin Strategic Drainage Study (GDSDS)
The Greater Dublin Strategic Drainage Study (GDSDS) was completed in 2005 and involved the seven Local Authorities of the Greater Dublin Area. The study carried out an in depth assessment of the Dublin’s drainage system. In addition to the extensive analysis of the drainage systems and the data collection that was carried out, the output also provided five policy documents. More information.

Meat Processing
Under service contract with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, the Veterinary Section carries out regular inspections on non-exporting meat processing premises. They also issue approval to meat premises that comply with the relevant legislation. More information.

The Veterinary Section is responsible for inspecting registered liquid milk producing dairy farms under European Regulations. Milking equipment, general hygiene and standards of animal housing and welfare are assessed. More information.

Major Producers i.e. those companies who place more than 25 tonnes of packaging waste onto the market and who have an annual turnover in excess of €1 million per annum, are obliged to comply with the Waste Management (Packaging) Regulations, 2003 and Waste Management (Packaging) (Amendment) Regulations, 2004. Retailers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) will be affected by new regulations, which were made on 5th July 2005, transposing EU legislation on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). While the WEEE Directive is based largely on the principle of producer responsibility, the regulations include specific provisions relating to retailers. More information.
